CREVER is a multidisciplinary research group of the University Rovira i Virgili of Tarragona that develops research and postgraduate training in Distributed Energy Polygeneration Systems in buildings and industries to achieve high energy efficiency and proper utilization of renewable energy.
Our research is focused on absorption cooling and heat pumps and integration and optimization of plant and equipment of electric power, heating and cooling for both buildings and industrial applications.
Background and Objectives
CREVER began operations in 1989. Since 1994 it has been recognized as Consolidated Research Group by the Directorate General for Research of the Generalitat de Catalunya. These groups are characterized by the quality and consistency of their research work, accredited through their publications and participation in research and transfer projects and dissemination of knowledge and results to society.
CREVER is involved in high level national and international R+D+i projects and also third countries cooperation projects.
Works for the transfer of technology and knowledge-oriented to society and the business sector, especially refrigeration and air conditioning, renewable energy, energy, and process engineering companies. The aim is to contribute favorably in the socioeconomic structure of our environment. This activity is achieved through consulting contracts and agreements, studies and services to businesses and governments at their request to develop new products, processes, and prototypes.
At the academic level, leads a wide range of postgraduate, masters and doctorate studies of high quality and collaboration with other Catalan universities, national and international. These studies focus on energy technology, air conditioning, refrigeration and integration of renewable energy applied to product development and production processes to respond to social demand and business experts and specialists in these fields.
